Women’s Basketball Earns First Win of the Season Over Appalachian Bible College

MARTINSVILLE, VA — The Patrick & Henry Community College women's basketball team earned its first win of the season in convincing fashion on Saturday afternoon, defeating Appalachian Bible College 66–43 in Stone Hall.

Freshman guard Amari Hairston (G, Fr., Martinsville, Va.) delivered a standout performance, leading all scorers with a career-high 33 points, including an impressive 29 points in the second half, as the Patriots built an early lead and set the tone for the afternoon.

Patrick & Henry continued to control the game inside, led by freshman center Kayla Drumheller (C, Fr., Charlottesville, Va.), who finished with 19 points, and fellow freshman center Sierra Bush (C, Fr., Virginia Beach, Va.), who added 10 points to give the Patriots three players in double figures.

The Patriots' defensive effort limited Appalachian Bible College throughout the contest. Appalachian Bible College was led by Alexis Keiffer, who scored 13 points in the loss.

Saturday's victory marked a key milestone for a hungry Lady Patriots squad, rewarding their continued effort and growth as the season progresses.

Patrick & Henry will return to action next weekend, traveling to Richard Bland College on Saturday, January 24 for a 2 p.m. tipoff, before closing the weekend on Sunday, January 25 with a road contest at Tidewater Community College in a Region 10 Division III matchup.
