Drumheller Leads Patrick & Henry, Lady Patriots Fall on the Road
BOLIVIA, NC -- The Patrick & Henry Community College women's basketball team fell to Brunswick Community College on Tuesday, 60–47, despite a standout performance from freshman center Kayla Drumheller (#13), who scored a game-high 21 points.
Patrick & Henry opened with strong defensive energy and stayed within striking distance throughout the first half. The Lady Patriots continued to compete deep into the third quarter before Brunswick was able to pull away late.
Drumheller anchored the offense and controlled the paint for the Lady Patriots. Freshman guard Mikayla Pittman (#2) added scoring from the perimeter, while Amari Hairston (#3) and Nevaeh Haynes (#5) provided backcourt support. Mason Jones (#10) and Mya Newborn (#11) contributed on both ends of the floor, and Jennifer Love-Villatoro (#14) along with Sierra Bush (#24) added depth and interior presence.
Head Coach Melvin Patterson expressed pride in the effort and emphasized the long-term vision for the program.
"Tough loss, but progress doesn't happen overnight. We're rebuilding this program one day, one game, one lesson at a time."
