Two Patriots Earn NJCAA Division III Softball First Team All-America Honors

MARTINSVILLE, VA – Patrick & Henry Community College Softball earned national recognition this week as sophomore designated player/pitcher Lily Carola of Union, West Virginia, and freshman outfielder/utility player Mckenzie Cobb of Yanceyville, North Carolina, were both named to the 2026 NJCAA Division III Softball First Team All-America Team presented by Netting Professionals.

All-America selections are voted on by the NJCAA Division III Softball Committee and recognize the top student-athletes across the nation at the Division III level.

Carola capped off an outstanding sophomore campaign by earning First Team All-America honors after leading the Patriots both at the plate and in the circle throughout the 2026 season. In addition to her All-America selection, Carola was named the Region 10 Division III Pitcher of the Year, earned First Team All-Region honors, was selected to the NJCAA Division III Softball Championship All-Tournament Team, and earned NJCAA Division III Pitcher of the Week honors three times during the season.

In the circle, Carola posted a 1.98 ERA with 15 wins and 97 strikeouts across 159.1 innings pitched. Offensively, she finished the season batting .319 with 45 hits, 29 RBI, and a .447 slugging percentage.

Cobb earned First Team All-America recognition following an impressive freshman season for the Patriots. She also earned First Team All-Region honors after leading Patrick & Henry with a .422 batting average while recording 46 hits, 32 runs scored, 22 RBI, and a .578 slugging percentage during the 2026 campaign.

The Patriots concluded the season with a 34-20 overall record and another appearance at the NJCAA Division III Softball World Series.
