Carola Earns Third NJCAA DIII Pitcher of the Week Honor
MARTINSVILLE, VA — Patrick & Henry Community College sophomore Lily Carola has been named NJCAA Division III Pitcher of the Week for the third time this season following a dominant showing at the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Carola played a pivotal role in the Patriots' success throughout the week, leading the pitching staff against a competitive national field. Across multiple appearances in the circle, she totaled 34.0 innings pitched with 47 strikeouts and five wins, consistently giving Patrick & Henry a strong presence in every outing.
Throughout the week, Carola delivered in key moments — including a shutout performance against Central Lakes, a no-hit effort in a shortened appearance against Moraine Valley, and a standout outing in a walk-off victory over Suffolk. In that game, she recorded an immaculate inning, striking out the side on nine pitches, while also contributing offensively to help secure the win.
Her ability to command the circle, work deep into games, and respond in high-pressure situations continues to be a major factor in the Patriots' early-season momentum.
"I am very thankful to have yet again received this award," Carola said. "This award is not just for me, but my team has put in the hard work behind me and pushed me to be a better player."
Head coach Robbi Campbell praised Carola's continued development and leadership.
"Lily continues to show why she's one of the top pitchers in the country," Campbell said. "Her consistency, competitiveness, and ability to step up in big moments have been huge for us. This recognition is well deserved, and we're proud of the way she continues to lead our program."
Patrick & Henry will return to action on Sunday, March 22, with a road doubleheader at USC Union beginning at 1:00 PM. The Patriots will then travel to New York for an eight-game stretch scheduled for March 25–29.
