Carola Earns NJCAA DIII Pitcher of the Week Honors for Second Straight Week

MARTINSVILLE, VA — Patrick & Henry Community College sophomore Lily Carola has been named the NJCAA Division III Pitcher of the Week for the second consecutive week after another dominant weekend in the circle during the Patrick & Henry JUCO Jamboree in Hickory, North Carolina.

Carola, a pitcher and first baseman from Union, West Virginia, delivered an outstanding performance across four games during the jamboree, totaling 12 innings pitched with 22 strikeouts, while allowing just six hits and no earned runs. She also recorded one win and one save, helping the Patriots secure key victories against a strong field of teams.

Carola opened the weekend with a strong outing against CCBC Catonsville, throwing five shutout innings while striking out nine in a 9–0 Patriots victory. She limited the Cardinals to just three hits and controlled the game in the circle as Patrick & Henry broke things open offensively with a five-run fourth inning.

She followed that performance with a dominant start against Delta College, tossing six scoreless innings while striking out 12 and allowing only three hits. The Patriots would go on to secure a 1–0 walk-off victory, with Carola setting the tone early in the circle before the bullpen finished the shutout.

Carola also contributed in relief during Patrick & Henry's 7–4 win over Catawba Valley, earning the save to close out the game and cap off a strong weekend for the Patriots during the fourth annual JUCO Jamboree.

"I am very honored to have received this award for the second time," Carola said. "My team and I have really shown that hard work does pay off, and I'm excited to see our further growth."

Head coach Robbi Campbell praised Carola's continued success and leadership in the circle.

"Lily has been outstanding for us and is very deserving of this recognition," Campbell said. "Her work ethic, preparation, and competitive mindset set the tone for our pitching staff. She continues to put in the work every day, and it's great to see that dedication translate into success on the field."

The Patriots currently sit at 7–11 overall and will next travel to North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, for the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic beginning March 9, where they will face College of DuPage to open the tournament.
